Some survivors are able to plan an escape from their abuser. Most don't have time. Many survivors of abuse arrive at The Mary Parrish Center with their children and the clothes on their backs. No money. No phone. No transportation. Only the clothes on their backs.
A leading cause of homelessness among women and children is domestic violence. Read that again.
The Mary Parrish Center gives survivors the support and tools they need to rebuild their lives. Survivors gain independence from their abusers and become self-sufficient so they can break the cycle and never go back. The Mary Parrish Center assists survivors in finding safe, permanent housing for themselves and their children.
The Mary Parrish Center provides vital services that help survivors through the stages of rebuilding their lives following interpersonal violence.
We provide transitional housing to survivors of interpersonal violence including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and/or human trafficking.
We help survivors rebuild their lives through a wide range of flexible and optional support services, including clinical therapy, emergency financial assistance, housing advocacy, enrichment activities, case management and financial advocacy.
We assist survivors in finding permanent housing for themselves and their families.
